About

A concise introduction to who I am, what I focus on, and what this site is built to share.

Who I am

Hands-on, practical, and focused on useful technology.

I am a lifelong technology enthusiast with a strong interest in home labs, cybersecurity, systems administration, and networking. I enjoy building real environments, troubleshooting real problems, and turning technical work into clear, useful explanations that others can follow.

What this site is for

A home for content, projects, and documentation.

Nick’s Tech Tips exists to share practical technology content in a way that is straightforward and useful. Instead of being a simple placeholder page, this site serves as a central place for my videos, project write-ups, and ongoing work across multiple platforms.

Projects

A few of the core areas I am building, testing, and documenting.

Virtualization

Proxmox Home Lab

I build and maintain a practical virtualization environment for testing services, operating systems, storage layouts, and infrastructure ideas. This is where I validate concepts before turning them into documented projects or content.

Windows

Windows Server + Active Directory

I use Windows Server in the lab to work with domain services, member server roles, management tools, and administrative workflows. It gives me a hands-on environment for learning and demonstrating real systems administration tasks.

Networking

Cisco + 10G Network Build

I use enterprise-style switching, VLANs, routing, and faster uplinks to build a more capable lab network. This project area covers both the design side and the practical lessons that come from putting the hardware to work.
